About the Institution

 

       Government First Grade College, Gauribidanur was established by the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka in 2007. It is located near Netaji Stadium, on the Gauribidanur - Chikkaballapur road.  It is Affiliated to Bengaluru North University. Accredited by NAAC with B+ Grade in 2016. The College is conferred with 2(f) and 12(B) status by UGC. The College is selected for infrastructure grants under RUSA Phase 2.   Presently, it offers  4 UG Programmes viz., BA, B.Com, BBA and B.Sc. (Computer Science). About 2,000 students from various parts of Karnataka have enrolled for different courses.

The college has a vision to achieve and sustain excellence in the field of education with a view to empower and enable students for holistic development, professional excellence and carve them into value added citizens fit for the job market. Akin to its mission the college provides student centric teaching -  learning process with emphasis on overall, holistic development of student  community. It has enabled its students to distinguish themselves in various fields of humanities, commerce and management.

The students have bagged several ranks in the University Examinations. The college is equipped with a good computer lab, library with e-resources, and sports facilities. Students have made the college proud with their performance in various cultural, co-curricular, sports competitions and examinations. To foster competitive spirit among the students, the college offers value-added courses such as spoken English, computer skills, soft skills, entrepreneurship skills, theatre and folk- dance workshops and other courses. The students have excelled in sports, social service, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The college has an active NSS unit, NCC unit, and Youth Red Cross to ensure the sensitization of students towards caring for all sections of the society.

Placement cell is to guide students to choose right career and to give knowledge, skill and aptitude and to meet the manpower requirements of the industry / companies.

Through this vision and mission, the placement cell maintains a constant contact with present and alumni students through WhatsApp, Facebook page and also sends the students regular message notifying them about the companies that would be visiting thereby encouraging them to apply for the recruitment procedure.

Iqac and placement cell are one of important option for students to choose their carrier soon after their graduation completion, and sir you are the co-ordinator for this placement cell. Thank you sir for providing this good option for degree holders of our college.
